The church service for Rick is scheduled for Thursday, November 20 at 7:00 pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel at 1442 Main Street.

With great sadness, Basketball Manitoba shares the news on the passing of long time basketball coach and teacher Rick Symonds of Winnipeg. Rick was a a teacher at Elmwood High School where he coached the varsity girls program there for number of years and also served as the convenor of the Winnipeg High School Basketball Conference. Rick was involved with Basketball Manitoba at the Provincial Team level coaching a variety of female teams in the program in the 1990's and 2000's. Rick was also very involved as a football coach. We have lost one of the truly nice guys in our game.
Our sincere condolences go out to the entire Symonds family.
