Winnipeg native Emmanuel Akot has made updated his announcement that he is committing to the Arizona Wildcats of the Pac-12 Conference now for the 2017-18 NCAA season. Akot had initially made plans to join the Wildcats for the 2018-19 season but has reclassified to be able to join the program this fall. Had he completed his high school in Manitoba, this would have been his grade 12 year.
Arizona is one of the top men's basketball program in the US, currently sitting at #7 in the national rankings heading into March Madness and will be a tournament favourite.
