Sister Bernadette O'Reilly Information
- Born in Toronto, Ontario
- In 1973 joined the Sisters of Sion
- Coached Varsity Girls High School Basketball Team in Toronto
- Came to the Rossbrook House in 1976
- Became Executive Director of Rossbrook House in 1983 after Sister
Geraldine McNamara became ill.
Rossbrook House Information
- Founded in 1976 by Sister Geraldine MacNamara (MacNamara Hall on
Spence Street is named in her honour as well as the Sister MacNamara
Elentary School).
- Inner city neighbourhood centre that offers an alternative to the
destructive environment to the streets of Winnipeg.
- In partnership with Winnipeg School Division No.1, Rossbrook
sponsors:
* an elementary program, Wi Wabigooni
* a junior high program, Eagles's Circle
* a high school program, Rising Sun
- Currently runs their own basketball league for elementary and junior
high school students (12 and under), in conjunction with the Victoria
Albert Elementary School.
