Sport Manitoba has announced details on the Manitoba Foundation for Sports Scholarship Program. The program provides an
award of $500 to graduating high school students and $1,000 to students
in the second or subsequent year of post-secondary education. The
program's emphasis is placed on athletes who have competed at the
provincial level or higher and who have maintained a high level of
academic standing, while showing a commitment to amateur sport through
their involvement in coaching, officiating and volunteer activities.

number of scholarships awarded annually varies, based on the number of
applicants and the funds available for distribution. Preference is
given to athletes attending university or college in Manitoba and
enrolled in a related field.
