He welcomed our friends in the media to the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame & Museum.
Chipman gave special thanks to the provincial sport organizations, Sport Manitoba and the general public for the many nominations received for consideration. He recognized and thanked those people for the time and effort they put into their nominations. Nomination forms and criteria (see aforementioned in this media package) are available at the Hall of Fame Offices at 200 Main Street or by phoning 925-5735 and on our website at www.halloffame.mb.ca .
Patrick Riddell, Chair of the Hall of Fame Dinner Committee, announced that Dinner tickets are on sale to the general public at $100.00 each, a portion of which is tax deductible, and available immediately at the Hall of Fame Offices at 200 Main Street. In addition to honouring this year’s Inductees through appearance presentations and video show, the Dinner will feature fabulous auctions and the chance for the public to meet their sporting heroes. He welcomed back Earl’s Restaurants as the Title Sponsor of the gala event and thanked them for their continued support.
It was stated that the honoured membership would stand at 200 athletes, 105 builders and 70 teams in the Hall of Fame’s twenty-eighth year of operation. We urge all sports enthusiasts interested in honouring and preserving Manitoba’s rich tradition of sport heritage to support the Hall of Fame’s premier event and attend it’s 28th Annual Induction Dinner.
