The Basketball Manitoba calendar now boasts a new feature which celebrates and highlights key moments in the history of basketball both internationally and locally. Over 50 significant items have been researched and added to the new 'This Day in Hoop History' category of our web calendar. These items will appear in the right column of the site as they come up through the year. Everything from the birth date of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball to some recent key moments in Manitoba basketball. Basketball Manitoba is dedicated to the promotion and development of basketball in Manitoba! We are the governing body of the sport in Manitoba and want to get you involved as a player, coach, official, volunteer or fan! TOGETHER WE GROW BASKETBALL!

Basketball Manitoba would like to acknowledge that we live, work and play on traditional Indigenous territories and Treaty Lands 1, 2, 3 and 5 across Manitoba. We wish to express our gratitude to Mother Earth and for the resources we are using including the land, water and air, and honour and recognize all the First Nation, Metis and Inuit people who have been living on the land. We welcome all nations to Basketball Manitoba.
