Position Summary: The Head Coach of women’s basketball is responsible for initiating various aspects of the women’s basketball program, including recruiting, training and coaching members of the women’s basketball team. The Head Coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Canadian Mennonite University, the Manitoba Colleges Athletics Conference (MCAC) and the Association of Christian Colleges Athletics (ACCA). As a full-member of the MCAC, CMU is in process of application for inclusion in the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA).
Essential Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train and coach members of the women’s basketball team
- Coordinate the development and promotion of the women’s basketball program
- Organize and schedule practice sessions
- Represent Canadian Mennonite University in a professional manner
Education:
An undergraduate degree is required and a working knowledge of FIBA rules and regulations. NCCP Level 2 or equivalent sport-specific education is preferred. Priority will be given to those candidates with previous high school, college or university coaching experience.
Organizational Relationship:
The Head Coach Women’s Basketball reports to the Director of Athletics and is a member of the Athletics Department. The Head Coach provides supervision to the Assistant Coach of Women’s Basketball.
