“With an exciting opportunity to compete on
the world stage in the 2009 FIBA U19 World Championship, we have been working
hard to identify the Canadian athletes who can lead us to the podium,” stated
Andrew Cook, Manager of Men’s Elite Performance for Canada Basketball. “The open tryout provides us with a great
venue to identify additional emerging talented athletes who have national team
potential.”
The JMNT ‘open tryout’ session will take
place on May 26th from 7:00-10:00pm at McMaster University’s
Burridge Gym.
Athletes
interested in participating in the 2009 JMNT open tryout session must
pre-register by faxing a signed copy of a completed player profile registration
and a completed and signed insurance form to Canada Basketball at 416-614-9570.
The deadline to register is Friday, May 22nd, 2009 (forms

athletes are responsible for their own expenses to attend and participate in
the open tryouts and tryouts by invitation session. Those athletes from out of town wishing to

Athletes
selected to the Junior National Team will represent Canada at the FIBA U19
World Championships for Men from July 2-12 in Auckland, New Zealand.
