The WMBA and Basketball Manitoba would like to congratulate Terry Wolowiec, the volunteer
convenor at Kirkfield Westwood Community Centre. Terry is this year's
recipient of the Investors Group Volunteer Sport Administrator Award.
This award was announced at the Basketball Manitoba Super Clinic
over this past weekend at the University of Winnipeg. Presenting the
award is the WMBA Executive Director, Lee Hurton.
Terry has been involved with the
Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association for the past 7 years as the volunteer
convenor of Kirkfield Westwood Community Centre, where he is also the club
president. KWCC is one of the largest club association with the league, registering an
average of 20 teams per season. Terry manages all registrants
at the club, arranges coaches and gym times for each team, as well as
coaches a team himself.
Terry has also sat on the WMBA Board of Directors,
holding the position of Coordinator of Coaching for the past 4 years. In
addition to all the countless volunteer hours as a club president, convenor, and
Board Member, Terry also gives back to the game of basketball as a
referee.
Terry is an incredibly positive,
encouraging, organized individual who continually goes above and beyond his
duties as a volunteer convenor. Each and every season he ensures that every
child not only have a place to play basketball, but also that their experience
is a positive one. He is a truly deserving candidate for this
award.
