Charlery is a man of few words. His team will agree with the fact that,
when he does speak you want to make sure to listen and internalize it
because it will only benefit you in the long run.
“Dany, is truly humble and generous of himself, while being patient and
considerate of others," says Bobcats Head Coach, Keith Vassell. "He is
so unassuming when you see him outside of the basketball court. I know
that where ever he goes after Brandon will be a better place, because
he is a part of it.”
On January 17, Charlery broke the Canada
West career record for games started (106). He is also sixth in
all-time points scored with a career total of 1,942 points.
“Sometimes
I draw up plays for Dany to score knowing that he has the creativity to
make it work no matter what the defense does. I watch in awe sometimes
to see how he plays defenders like a puppet to set up for a beautiful,
creative basket that I am not sure if I will ever see anything like it
again.”
This season, Charlery, averaged 21 points per game and
also had 50 steals, the fourth highest across the CIS. Over his career,
Charlery totaled 272 steals.
“Dany is without question one of
the all-time greats to put on a Bobcat uniform," says Athletic Director
Kirk De Fazio. "Dany was such a classy guy and exemplary ambassador for
BU. He will be deeply missed."
Charley will be formally
