The NBA Jam Session made its national stop over the weekend at The Forks in Winnipeg's downtown. The basketball festival attracted thousands of basketball fans from all ages to the interactive event that featured open shooting and skills contests, player skill and fitness clinics, a dance and breakdance clinic and photo ops with the NBA Championships Trophy. Appearances were made by Philadelphia 76'ers forward Thaddeus Young and Harlem Globetrotter 'Buckets' Blakes. Buckets also made a stop by Sargent Park School on Friday to speak with and WOW over 400 students about their C.H.E.E.R. program. Sunday featured a 65+ team 3on3 tournament in front of the Scotiabank Stage and on top of the Forks Parking garage. Basketball Manitoba would like to thank the NBA for their support in bringing the event to the city and to all the volunteers and teams for making this inaugural event a possibility!
