After spending time leading the Bobcats women’s basketball team last season, Ritchie Jacobson will resume the role of head coach for the 2011-2012 year. Jacobson took over coaching duties last November and led the team for the remainder of the season. Jacobson’s term for the upcoming academic year begins effective immediately. “I’m excited to come back and build on the relationship I was able to establish with the team last year,” says Jacobson.
“I will be more familiar with the girls to start the season and them with me, which will hopefully provide us with more time to get to where we want to be. We have to be sharp fundamentally and fitness-wise. If you address those things you’ll step on the court with a lot more confidence.”
The Bobcats women’s basketball team will open the Canada West conference season at home on November 5 as they play host to the University of Calgary Dinos.
