The Olds College Broncos Coaching Staff are taking to the road for their first Western Canadian Recruiting Tour and are looking for players interested in playing college sports. Starting Friday, March 23rd, 2012, Broncos Athletics will begin an extensive search for the Broncos next great athletes. Coaches from for both men’s and women’s sports including Basketball, Volleyball & Soccer will travel the prairies and in to the Rockies this march and April . This first ever recruiting trip is designed to allow current or recently graduated students (regardless of age) the opportunity to show off their talents to college coaches. When asked about why Olds College has decided to make this trip? Jr. Varsity Men’s Basketball coach Stephen Anthony commented, “many of our staff are from the prairies, including myself, and we know that many athletes only think that its University or nothing!” he continues by commenting “I wish I knew about the extensive college programming in Alberta when I graduated!” The ACAC, Alberta Collegiate Athletic Conference, which is a CCAA member & Alberta College Athletic Leagues (ACAL), a small college league. These leagues are two examples of how athletes with talent and aspirations to play post secondary sports can, these athletes are ones that aren’t quite University level players but with an opportunity to develop have the potential to move on to the next level or just an opportunity to play beyond high school and pursue their post secondary education.
