Basketball Manitoba is pleased to announce that Trish Hallson of Selkirk, MB has recently joined its Board of Directors. Trish is the Varsity Girls basketball coach at Lord Selkirk, and has coached both junior and senior high school boys or girls for many years. She also coaches community club and Rising Stars League teams based out of Selkirk. She is the convener for the Selkirk Sonics, a WMBA club that plays host to over 200 local youth players annually. She has also been involved in the coaching of girls’ basketball for Team Interlake in the Manitoba Games and runs a girls summer camp in Selkirk for local players. She has a husband who is a former senior men’s player and youth coach, and two daughters that are involved in playing and coaching basketball as well. Trish fills the vacancy on the Board left by Jana Taylor who resigned in the fall prior to applying with Sarah Lundgren for the 15U Provincial Team Assistant Coach. To view the current list of Board Members...All Members of the Basketball Manitoba Board of Directors are responsible for upholding its Mandate and the statements appearing in the Constitution. Each member holds one vote when present at an official meeting of the Board of Directors with exception to the President who only votes in the case of a tie. Members of the Board attend monthly meetings (traditionally the last Thursday of the month), Assist the Association at fundraising and special events, and maintain the portfolio specific to their duties assigned.
