University of Winnipeg Men’s Basketball head coach Mike Raimbault is pleased to announce the commitment of Kelvin Clippers stand out Kristjan Lamont to the Wesmen Men’s Basketball Program for the start of the upcoming season this September. The 6’6 forward averaged 15 points, nine rebounds and two blocks per game this past season and played a vital role in leading the Clippers to the AAAA Provincial semi finals last month. He was named a Provincial All-Star and was also recognized as a Graduating All-Star. His outstanding play at the 45th Annual Wesmen Classic earned him a spot on the Tournament All-Star team. Lamont was recognized this past season as both a CTV Sports Star of the Week and Manitoba High School Athletic Association Urban Athlete of the Week.
“The addition of Kristjan to our program is an exciting one. He is a dynamic athlete who has the ability to play multiple positions and has the potential for tremendous growth and development”, said Wesmen head coach Mike Raimbault.
Kristjan has been a fixture on the Manitoba Provincial team for the past four seasons and in 2009 was named All-Canadian at the 15U National Championships.
