Special Message from Tournament Director Shirley Blanca...
As I'm sure everyone has heard of the young lady/mother that passed away after the tragic hair salon crash, Kendall Wiebe.
Kendall was one of our Mb Magic Moms (step-mom) to Meagan Cancilla - a player on our Gr7 Girls Team in the Bantam Girls Division. Kendall was a big part of our “basketball family”, coming to all the games that she could, and participating in all of our teams’ events and get-togethers - she would have been at this tournament next weekend for sure cheering her step-daughter Meagan all the way.
I wanted to let you all know that next weekend, we will be honouring Kendall by helping in raising money to donate to the Trust Fund that has been set up for her kids. All gate money will be donated to the Trust Fund - as well as the money raised from the sale of merchandise that has been kindly donated by the UofW and Basketball MB in support of this cause.
We hope that we can all get together as a basketball community to support this lovely family. Thank you.
