Basketball Manitoba is pleased to announce that it will be tipping off its third annual Women's Summer League for 8 female elite teams this May. The BMSL is an invite based summer basketball league open to female teams from the University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg, University of Winnipeg College, Canadian Mennonite University, Red River College, two 'All-Star' Teams and Manitoba's Provincial 17U Team. The teams will compete from late May through July. Its purpose is to provide a high level competitive environment for Manitoba's 17U Provincial Juvenile Team an opportunity to prepare for the National Championships in August and to provide an opportunity for the local university / college teams to prepare their respective teams for the upcoming fall for both new and returning players. On the men's side, Basketball Manitoba is in year two of our partnership with the Hoops Fanatic Summer League operated by Ogo Okwumabua. The 17U Male Provincial Team will compete in that league over the same time frame this summer. The Hoops Fanatic League continues to be a fully recognized member of Basketball Manitoba with complete accident and liability coverage for all its participants.
