The University of Winnipeg Wesmen Men’s Basketball program has added two players to their roster. Head coach Mike Raimbault has announced the commitments of Sam Hattin and Jordan Clennon to the team in time for the 2012-2013 Canada West season in September.
Sam Hattin (pictured to the left) joins the Wesmen after playing two years at Erie Community College (Buffalo, New York). The 6’5” wing from Hamilton, Ontario led the Kats to back-to-back district three conference championships and a fourth place finish at the 2010-11 NJCAA Tournament. Last season he averaged over eight points and three rebounds a game while shooting 37% from three-point range. He scored in double figures in 17 games played during the 2011-2012 season.
Jordan Clennon (pictured to the right), a 6’1 guard comes to the Wesmen after playing two years at Missouri State University-West Plains. Clennon played his high school basketball at St. Edmund Campion in Brampton, Ontario. He was named the Most Valuable Player in his final two seasons and was selected as an all-star at several tournaments.
“Sam is a big wing who has the ability to consistently knock down perimeter jump shots. He gained valuable experience the past two seasons and we are excited about his addition to our program”, said Raimbault.
“Jordan has spent the past two seasons playing and practicing against some top level athletes. He has the ability to play both guard positions and can create scoring opportunities for both himself and his teammates. He is also a talented scorer from outside and we are excited about adding his scoring punch to our lineup”, added Raimbault.
