Submitted by the Manitoba Magic Basketball Club... This has been the most successful season for a Manitoba Magic team yet! For any boys or girls! No other team (since MB Magic's inception in 2003) has gone UNDEFEATED the WHOLE Season! This very special team consists of girls ranging from 12-14 years old. The 14U MB Magic Girls team for 2011-12 entered into the most competitive tournaments and divisions across Manitoba and south of the border in Grand Forks, ND in age divisions ranging from 15U, all the way up to their most challenging yet a Women's Open Division, where the girls played against former University and College players. They were definitely thrown around during the season (from not only the Women's Open teams, but others too), and they also had some really tough matches that came down to mere baskets. These various levels of competition challenged what our Magic girls were made of and through it all, they stuck together, ground it out and came out victorious...resulting in an UNDEFEATED SEASON! And the best part of this is - EVERYONE played a huge part in these wins. Our "bigs" played huge, our guards demonstrated heart, and our shooters were on point and YES - the parents and families too for their support, guidance, and volunteer helped all season! It was a perfect team effort from all.

Two other players represented Team Winnipeg’s 16u girls team at the Power Smart Manitoba Games this past July 15-20, 2012. Those players were:
Sentilla Bubb and Carina Sosnowski.
Others on this team represent Winnipeg for an annual Filipino National Basketball Tournament. Those players are:
Rachel Geli, Raizel Guinto, Kiara Rongavilla and Liyanah Serapio.
