Details are...Whether you are just starting out or need some motivation to follow your wildest dreams, our two speakers will inspire and motivate you to become the best you can be. Come on down to the Duckworth Ctr on September 30th to hear and be moved by 2 great young women who have made an impact on hundreds of lives.
Our speakers for September 30th, are Lauren Sears and Roxanne Perry.
Lauren Sears played 5 years of CIS Volleyball at the University of Winnipeg. She has won many awards, most notably CIS all rookie team, University of Winnipeg most improved player, Canada West 1stand 2nd team all star, 1st team all canadian, CIS Academic All Canadian, Wesmen Most Valuable Player, and Wesmen athlete of the year. Lauren was also invited to the National team tryouts after of stellar year of play with the Wesmen. Lauren is a motivating and an inspiring person who has a great story to tell and went through many obstacles to overcome her fears.
Roxanne Perry has played and coached at various levels from club, high school, Provincial to University levels and is currently assisting with the Canadian Junior National Team.
Prior to Field Hockey Manitoba, Perry worked with Vancouver Park Board as Community as a Recreation Programmer who expanded programming across the city for children and youth with disabilities. In addition, she was manager of the Jr. National Women’s Field Hockey Program (2010-2012); assisted in Senior Women’s Field Hockey Team Identification Camps (2009, 2010) and as an athlete, Perry won National Championship in Field Hockey with Team BC and also played with Team Alberta while earning a bronze medal with the University of Alberta in field hockey in 2000.
