The University of Winnipeg Wesmen will give free admission to any age 18 and under basketball player in uniform for their matchup with the Manitoba Bisons in this years Duckworth Challenge. The Duckworth Challenge, an annual competition between the two cross-town rivals is named for the late Dr. Henry Duckworth. Dr. Duckworth was the second President at the University of Winnipeg and Chancellor at the University of Manitoba and a great supporter of university and amateur sport. This year ‘s basketball Challenge takes place on Wednesday December 5th at the Duckworth Centre with the Women’s game tipping off at 6pm and the Men’s game following at 8pm. Don’t worry if you have to skip dinner as the Wesmen will be serving Bison Burgers hot off the grill starting at 5:00 pm.
