  • This National Federation production leads you step-by-step through the proper ways to administrate a basketball game.  It begins with the 6 general rules that an o > fficial must follow in order to be an effective referee.  From there, the tape explains the pre-game conference, the jump-ball situation, floor coverage, boundary line coverage, calling fouls, administrating free throws, handling time outs, what to do between quarters and at half time, and dealing with substitutions.  This is an excellent production to be used as an accessory with the National Federation rule books.

  • This official publication of the NCAA focuses on a variety of important points of emphasis and officiating concerns.  Topics such as “off-the-ball contact”, “5-seconds closely guarded”, “blocking / charging”, hand-checking and floor mechanics are explained in-depth with a number of game situations slowed down to show the proper call.  The finishes with a “You Make the Call” segment featuring the carry ball, intentional fouls, travelling, post-play, the principle of verticality, goal tending, and others.  An excellent review of the present NCAA basketball rules as followed by CIAU Men in Canada.
