The Basketball Manitoba Women's Summer League kicked off in style with round one action. Game 1 - 17U Provincial Team defeats the University of Manitoba Bisons 58-45. The Provincial team stormed out of the gate and held on to win their first match up of the league. Jordan Tully scored 16 points to lead the way for the 17U while Samantha Pyke scored 10 points for the Bisons. Game 2 - The University of Winnipeg Wesmen defeat the All Stars 85-65. Kenesha Giles lead the way for U of W with 17 points while the Stars we paced by Patti Parker's 17. Game 3 - Team Elite defeated the Juniors 75-67 in a great game to wrap up the night. Michele Hynes dropped in 19 points while collecting the win, while the Juniors top scorers were Lauren Anderson and Meredith Ramos with 15 each. Second Round action takes place this coming Wednesday at at 6:00pm at the U of M and will have the 17U girls facing off against the University of Winnipeg, both teams trying to stay undefeated.
