ROUND 6; Game 1- U of Manitoba found their groove and easily handled the 17U Provincial Team 79 - 28. The leading scorer for the Bisons was Sherri Carmona Galdamez 12 points, while Jordan Tully led the 17U with 9 points. Game 2 - The Stars handed the Wesmen their first loss of the league with a final score of 83 - 62. Leading the scoring for Stars was Debbie Yeboah with 23 points, while Kenesha Giles dropped 21 points for the University of Winnipeg. Game 3 - Saw the Juniors drop the Elite by 30 with a final score of 89-59. Leading scorer for Juniors was Merideth Ramos with a game hi 23 points while Prestley Cross scored 11 points for the Elites.
ROUND 7; Game 1 - The 17U Provincial Team bounced back from the prior day's defeat to hand the University of Winnipeg Wesmen their second loss of the league 65 - 63 in a close one. Leading the way for the 17U was Jordan Tully with 12 points. Kenesha Giles led the Wesmen with 19 points. Game 2 - The Bisons beat the Juniors in a solid battle 84-78. Stephanie Gill led the Bison attack with 21 points while Alex Mac Iver netted 24 points for the Juniors. Game 3 - The Stars pounded the Elite 95 - 60. The Star's Patti Parker dropped an outstanding 40 points in the game setting a new league single game scoring record. Kerrilyn Maclennan added 17 points for the Elite squad.
Rounds 8 and 9 take place Today (Tuesday) and Wednesday at the University of Manitoba's Investors Group Athletic Centre Gym.....action tips off at 6:00pm both nights.
