Designed to help you gain the knowledge and skills required to ensure the safety of your athletes, these modules will cover: what to do to prevent concussions, how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a concussion, what to do when you suspect an athlete has a concussion, and how to ensure athletes return to play safely.By taking these NCCP Professional Development modules, you will not only become concussion smart, but your completion of one of these module will also be recorded on your coaching transcript as professional development.
Please note that effective October 28, coaches accessing any of the Making Head Way Concussion eLearning modules on coach.ca will be charged $14.95.
Please note the following points of clarification:
- Each module will cost the coach $14.95 to access – payment may be made via credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express);
- Coaches will have access to the module they have paid to access for one calendar year -- every module will reset at midnight on December 31;
- Modules accessed for free before October 28 will still be available at no cost for review purposes until December 31, 2013;
- Every module completed will give the coach 5 Professional Development points, meaning that if a coach completes the multi-sport version AND the soccer-specific module, they would earn 10 PD points;
- Each module may only be completed for PD points ONCE per calendar year.
- An email will be sent to coaches that have elected to receive emails from the CAC in the next week or so alerting them to these changes, but as always, we would appreciate your help in getting the word out.
