MCAC HEAD COACH - WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The University of Winnipeg invites applications for the position of Head Coach of it’s Women’s Basketball team operating at the College level in the MCAC. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach of each of these programs will be responsible for distinct but related functions: the organization and operation of the Women’s College Basketball Program including the recruitment, retention, and supporting the academic success of student athletes. In addition, the Head Coach will ensure effective practices training and in game direction. They will also ensure compliance with MCAC rules and regulations. This position will also play a key role in the promotion, fundraising, and marketing of the program to the campus and the community. The successful candidate will fully embrace the beliefs and work of the Faculty of Kinesiology on athletics and academics, especially as they relate to youth programming and inner-city and community work.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of coaching experience, and preference will be given to candidates with level 2 NCCP coaching certification or higher. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build develop, establish, and maintain effective relationships within the University and surrounding communities. Compensation is negotiable.
