Basketball Manitoba is very pleased to announce that Manitoba Provincial Team Member Emmanuel Akot of Winnipeg has been invited to the Canada Basketball Cadet Men's National Team Assessment Camp in Toronto this weekend! Emmanuel is coming off a tremendous summer representing Manitoba at the 15U Canadian National Championships where he helped Manitoba earn a 4th place finish. In recognition for an outstanding national tournament, he was named to the Tournament All-Star Team. He is currently in his grade 10 year with the number 2 ranked Kildonan East Reivers, who won the 32-team Brandon Sun Spartans Invitational this past week in Brandon. Emmanuel is also a member of the Winnipeg Wolves Basketball Club.
The camp are open to Canadian athletes born January 1, 1999 or later and have a valid Canadian passport. Canada’s Cadet Men's National Team will compete in the FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Men in June 2015 in Argentina, for qualification to the 2016 FIBA World U17 Championships.
