An upcoming forum at the University of Winnipeg will tackle the challenges facing the sport community amid bullying, hazing, sexual harassment, and doping. Attack on Sports will review the societal impact of sport, and the current hardships that leagues are facing in the wake of recent scandals. Keynote speakers include Paul Melia, CEO of the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, and Winnipeg journalist Dan Lett.
Also on the agenda will be talks surrounding brawls, parental behaviour, and the negative conduct in pro sport.
A panel discussion will follow with Alex Gardiner, head coach of the Canadian track and field team at the 2012 Olympics, Sandra Kirby, UWinnipeg professor and former Olympian, lawyer Jeff Palamar, and Jeff Powell, GM of the Canadian Sports Centre.
