REMINDER: Stonewall Collegiate has announced that it will be hosting its third annual cancer awareness fundraiser, April 17-18, 2015. The event features a 3 on 3 basketball tournament called 'Hoops for Hope'. Several staff members at the school in the last few years have battled the disease and there are a number of students in the area whose parents are also dealing with cancer. Since its inception in 2013, the event has raised over $28,000 for Cancer Care in Manitoba! The tournament is open to teams of 6 in grades 2-4, grades 5-6, grades 7-8, high school students and adults age 18+. The organizers are looking for teams and donations for the silent auction or simply a monetary donations to the cause. Registration fee is $25 a person and all team members receive a shirt with their entry fee. There are pledge sheets available online at cancer care as well for anyone who would like to donate directly. Deadline to register a team is April 10, 2015
