For most people, it is a mundane task. But for Shapiro, 16, who was born with only one arm, it requires a little more finesse.
Her mother, Goldelyn, explains that it is just one more thing Melissa does that continues to impress her. It's also another reason why Goldelyn wasn't surprised when Melissa came to her earlier this school year and said she wanted to play basketball.
