The University of Winnipeg has announced that after more than 27 years of dedicated service to Wesmen Athletics, Doran is retiring as Athletic Director to explore other opportunities in Ottawa.
"I have enjoyed my many years at the University of Winnipeg as both a student and as a staff member. It's the friendly, helpful attitude of the people on our campus that has helped us make a difference in so many student athlete's and community youth's lives. That has been very rewarding and I will miss all of the students, staff and faculty that have been such a big part of my life", said Reid.
Reid received his BA from UWinnipeg in 1981. He began his career in Athletics in 1989 at the Duckworth Centre Service Desk. From there he moved on to coordinate and then manage athletics facilities and events. He followed that by taking on all functions related to the operation of the Duckworth Centre and Wesmen Athletics, first as Associate Athletic Director, then as Acting Athletic Director, and in 2009, after a formal search, he was appointed Athletic Director.
The entire University of Winnipeg community wishes Doran much success in his future endeavours.
