Canada Basketball’s Women’s High Performance program has announced the 17 athletes who have been invited to the June 9-10 tryout by invitation, which includes Manitoba's Niyah Becker. The group will compete for a chance to represent Canada on the U16 Women’s National Team, participating in the 2015 U16 FIBA Americas, in Puebla, Mexico from June 24-28. Joining Niyah with be Michele Hynes from the University of Manitoba.

Following the tryout, the team will participate in a 10-day training camp from June 11-20 at the University of Toronto – Mississauga.
In 2014, the U17 Women’s National Team finished 6th at the U17 FIBA World Championships. Canada is currently ranked 4th worldwide in the FIBA Women’s age-group rankings.
