WHY VOLUNTEER?
- Gain event planning/management experience
- Network with representatives from national/provincial/multi-sport and games sport organizations, educational institutions, recreation departments, etc.
- Learn more about the sports industry
RESPONSIBILITIES & ROLES
Volunteer are needed to help with event set-up, staff activity stations (games and selfie station) during the reception (prior to the gala), greet guests and take tickets at the door, assist the event photographer, assist event Emcees, help people find their reserved seating/tables, etc.We need energetic people who are outgoing and friendly. You need to be flexible in terms of being able to adapt to changes in roles onsite and have a ‘can do’ attitude.
SHIFT TIMES
Six (6) volunteers are needed. Three (3) volunteers are needed from 2 pm to 10 pm and three (3) are needed from 4 pm to 10 pm.
DRESS CODE & THEME
The theme of this event is “A Starry Night at the Cottage Celebrating Canada’s Coaching Stars”. The room will be decorated like a rustic cottage and the reception activities will include a S’mores station, campfire singalong with an acoustic guitar player, cottage games (ring toss, washer toss, etc) and the room will be decorated to feel like a cottage. Volunteers will be required to dress according to the theme: jeans, flannel shirts or cozy sweaters, rugged boots (no athletic or dressy footwear), mitts, toques and scarves.
PARKING/TRANSPORTATION
Volunteers will receive a gift card in lieu of parking or transportation expenses to and from the hotel. Dinner will be provided.

If you are interested in being a part of this fun event, please send a brief email to Krista Benoit at ispark@sympatico.ca before October 19th. In your email, please indicate why you feel you are well suited to be a part of this event and specify your availability on Friday, November 13th. Those with previous event planning experience and a background in sport will be best suited.
