The Special Olympics Manitoba In the Schools program gets the school year bouncing with two Basketball events taking place in December. First up, athletes in grades Kindergarten to 8 will descend upon Edmund Partridge Community School (1874 Main St, Winnipeg) on Monday December 7th for an exciting day of basketball skill building as well as meeting new friends from different schools around Winnipeg and the surrounding area. Last year over 80 athletes from 13 different schools attended this event with lots of fun had by all.
On Friday December 11th the University of Winnipeg Duckworth Centre will be host to the Special Olympics Manitoba In the Schools High School 3 on 3 Basketball event. This is an exciting day where teams compete in 3 on 3 half court games as representatives of their respective High Schools. This event is quickly growing and is expected to have multiple teams from over 10 High Schools taking part.
A big THANK YOU goes out to our host venues and volunteers for which without you these events would not be able to happen.
