The annual '100 Basketballs' event tripled its goal of distributing over 300 basketballs to inner-city children living in Winnipeg at their event this past Sunday at Turtle Island Community Centre. The day included a 3on3 basketball tournament, All-Star Game, music, crafts and community barbecue. The event was attended by Point Douglas MLA and long time basketball supporter Kevin Chief (pictured above in the blue jersey). 
The organizers would like to thank all their sponsors including Aboriginal Youth Opportunities, Manitoba Building Trades, Basketball Manitoba, City of Winnipeg and TD Canada Trust. Basketball Manitoba would like that thank and acknowledge the event organizer, Lenard Monkman (pictured on the microphone above) for all his tireless dedication in coordinating this annual event!
