Basketball Full Set Titles:
1. 113 Zone Defense, Anthony Jones, Dr. Phillips HS (FL), 2011 and 2013
National High School Invitational Champions: In this video you will learn the
proper slides/rotation of the 113 zone defense. This defense is designed to
keep the ball on the perimeter most of the time. The defense is also designed
to stop most ball penetration and prevent entry passes inside to post players.
In the 113 defense you will see how the defenders rotation is very basic when
the offense is in a typical high low set. However, you will see the 113 defense
morphs/disguised into a 23 and or 131 depending on the offensive set. However,
the 113 defense has the same philosophy when it changes into a 23 or 131 set.
With many repetitions you will find that the 113 zone defense is very affective
and is used often to contest all shots and great rebounding. 50 minutes. 2012.
2. The CATT Offense:
Dismantling the Pressure Man-to-Man Defense, Karl Salscheider, Bemidji State
University, Winningest Coach at BSU: Are you tired of turning the ball over
against athletic, overly aggressive man to man defenses? Consider the CATT (Cut All the Time) offense. This offense
rectifies your issues of poor spacing and poor decision-making that too frequently
puts points on the board for your opponents instead of you. This offense
capitalizes on the defenses overextension that results in layups instead of
turnovers. Teach your players better spacing, better cutting, better clearing,
better footwork, better decision making, and how to better signal and read your
teammates prior to a V cut so as to make the optimal, timely pass. Breakdown
drills, applications and contact information will be included. 45 minutes.
2012.
3. The Seal Offense:
Dismantling the 23 Zone Defense, Karl Salscheider, Bemidji State University,
Winningest Coach at BSU: Are you tired of either endlessly running cutters
through or too much standing around without a plan to score? Consider the Seal
offense. This offense has a strategic 12-3 approach generating either a layup
or an open 3 pointer. The purpose of any quality zone offense is to force the
defense into poor spacing, poor positioning, and indecision. The Seal does just
that, all in a matter of seconds. Teach your players to draw the zone defenders
out of position, identify and maintain fluid offensive equidistant spacing,
execute sharp passes, seal a pivotal defender, and create layup or open 3 point
shooting opportunities. When reasonably executed, this offense will most often
force the defense out of the zone. Breakdown drills, applications and contact
information will be included. 45 minutes. 2012.

16. Post Defense by
Michael Peck, Findlay Prep (NV), Three Time National High School Invitational
Champion: Defense is the backbone and foundation of our program. As
important as it is to develop offensive fundamentals and skills, it is equally
important to be able to play defense. This DVD includes individual and team
concepts and principles on how to defend in the post. Although individual
defense is important, it is critical to understand team defensive principles in
order to become an effective defensive player. This DVD is dedicated to our
defensive system and philosophy as it relates to post defense. In it, you will
see and gain a better understanding of the many different actions that must be
considered and covered when defending in the post. 50 minutes. 2012
17. Screen &
Roll Defense, Michael Peck, Findlay Prep (NV), Three Time National High School

possession, the defense is going to encounter a screen (pick) & roll
situation. This DVD includes the different ways on how we defend ball screens
(screen & roll) and more importantly, how to recover effectively.
Regardless of how we decide to defend any given ball screen, it is imperative

defending it and communicate our recovery out of it. 50 minutes. 2012.
18. Mental Toughness
and Confidence Drills, Matt Cordes, 2010 and 2008 Minnesota Boys Class AA State
Champions: My session will touch on my coaching philosophy, and a few
drills that I use to help improve mental toughness and building confidence. I
believe it is as important to understand who we are coaching as much as
understanding what we are coaching. Mental toughness or having a positive
mental attitude is really the ability to remain focused in the midst of
distractions. This can be worked on in any number of drills by simply requiring
players remain focused even when distracted or tired. 47 minutes. 2012.

Motion, Vern Capelle, Upsala High School (MN), 2011 Minnesota Boys Class A
State Coach of the Year: The 4 out/1 in drive motion is a motion offense that
incorporates the main concepts of the Dribble-drive offense. By utilizing the attacking
style of the dribble-drive, combined with the pass and cut options common to
motion offense, this offense will spread the floor to exploit defenses by
creating multiple gaps for attacking and scoring. This offense is also very versatile
and may be run out of various alignments and entries. The drive motion offense
also works great with set plays and in special situations. The drive motion
offense is will give your players multiple options to attack the defense and
exploit any mismatch situations. 47 minutes. 2012.

screen multiple ways by attacking the rim, pulling-up, rejecting the screen,
and splitting the screen. The versatile point guard needs to be able to shoot
the ball on the move as well as having excellent agility and speed. Shooting
drills, tennis ball agility and speed drills conclude the DVD. Tesdahl just
finished up his playing career at Bemidji State University as the all-time
assists leader and is now the new Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant at the
University of Minnesota Duluth. 50 minutes. 2012.
22. Offensive Drills
Including Footwork, Form and Shooting, Randy Holthusen, Red Lake High School,
MN:
The drills in the video are geared towards youth player development up to the
eighth grade. Proper footwork, form and how you receive the ball equal a good
shot. These basic 2 and 3 person drills will work on your form and footwork
from the left and the right side of court. Developing young kids footwork at a
young age will enable them to move on to learn new things. Coaches shouldn’t be
teaching kids how to shoot, dribble or pass at the varsity level. Teaching
these drills and proper footwork to kids in grades k-8 is crucial in their
development. 50 minutes. 2012.
23. The Versatile

NCAA DIII National Player of the Year and NBADL player presents the drills and

50 minutes. 2012.
25. The Controlled
Multiple Pressure Defense, Jack Bennett, University of Wisconsin Stevens Point,
2004 and 2005 NCAA DIII Men National Champions: If you are content
with a one defense approach to basketball, there is no need to read further. However,
if you are looking for a way to break the rhythm and comfort zone of your
opponent's offense, consider A CONTROLLED MULTIPLE APPROACH TO TEAM DEFENSE.
Using the sound principles of gap man-to-man defense that were inspired by his
brother, Coach Jack Bennett shows the positioning and slides of the 131 and
sliding 32 zones that helped his University of Wisconsin Stevens Point team win
back to back NCAA DIII National Championships. While man to man was the
foundation to our team defense, the selective use of zone principles
complemented our entire defensive package. We simply wanted opponents to be
concerned with both our man and zone defenses. Making teams use valuable
practice time to prepare for both, along with the element of surprise were keys
to our success. A by-product was the improved execution in our zone offensive
attack due to the quality of our preparation against strong zones in practice.
A CONTROLLED MULTIPLE APPROACH TO TEAM DEFENSE is worth exploring if you are
searching for a way to enhance your team defense and potentially gain more
victories this season. 110 minutes. 2012.
26. 23 Match Up Zone Defense, Rick Kehoe,
Bemidji HS, 2009 Minnesota Class 4A Section 8 Coach of the Year: You will
see different ways to approach playing a 2-3 defense. Many coaches and players
believe playing zone defense is easy and a time to rest. I believe you can use
it as a weapon to frustrate, confuse and create turnovers and offensive
opportunities. I have over the years evolved my teachings of zone defenses to
my players to incorporate many of the man to man principles. You will also
learn different rotations and strategies to use against the different offenses
other teams run against a 23 zone defense. 55 minutes. 2012.
27. Everyday Drills
to Make Your Team Accountable, Jim Gosz, Milwaukee King HS, Four Time Wisconsin
Boys State Champions: If you are looking for new drills and ideas to make your

28. Focus on
Fundamentals, Jerry Krause, Gonzaga University, Hall of Fame Coach: Focus on Fundamentals

to Become a Master Teacher.” Basketball fundamentals of stance, starts, stops,
steps, turns and jumps are identified and described to be executed with balance
and quickness. Coaching fundamentals to become a master teacher are also
explained, how you develop players and your team, the use of the basic laws of
learning and the use of critical cues. Finally, challenges of teaching and
learning are described to assist coaches and players in reaching their full
potential. 110 minutes. 2013.
29. Build Your Own
Zone Offense, Jerry Krause, Gonzaga University, Hall of Fame Coach: Hall of Fame Coach
Jerry Krause identifies and describes a series of principles and skills used to
effectively attack zone defenses. This menu of techniques is designed to
successfully build player and coach confidence to successfully attack zone
defenses with the inside-out approach. The techniques of zone offense that are
identified and described are fast breaks, alignment, spread and swing plus
moving the ball and players. Specific zone offense techniques described
and shown are attack second sides, offset matches, penetrate on pass and dribble,
use of quick stop/triple threat tools, through cuts to overload and change the
perimeter. Finally, an adaptable screening zone offense is shown to get
the ball inside and produce outside scoring for selected outside
shooters. A special play is shown that is effective against both zone and
player to player defenses. Coaches are encouraged to select menu
techniques suited to your personnel and situation. 55 minutes. 2013.
30. Defending Ball
Screen Actions, Larry Hunter, Western Carolina University, Ranked #11 in NCAA
DI Wins: In attacking the man to man defense at most all levels of
basketball utilizing the ball screen action is a fairly significant part of
most offenses in today’s game and especially at those levels where there is a
shot clock. How effective your team is at consistently defending these ball
screens will often go a long way in determining your success at the defensive
end of the court. This DVD will talk about how to incorporate the various ways
to defend ball screen actions into an organized system. The various ways of
defending ball screen actions include the blitz (hard hedge), soft hedge and
shadow, squeeze and go under, trap or double team the dribbler, switching, and
downing. Specific ball screen actions are discussed and the technique and
rotations used to defend the action. Offensive ball screen actions
include the transition brush screen; SBS (with pair sides and a low post; and
in an open post situation); MBS-PE (with two bigs; and a big and a
perimeter shooter); Double Middle Ball Screen; Stagger High Ball Screens; Horns
(basketball in the middle of the floor with screens on both sides of the ball).
55 minutes. 2013.
31. No Easy Baskets:
Transition Defense and Special Situations, Larry Hunter, Western Carolina
University, Ranked #11 in NCAA DI Wins: Every team wants to play the game
competitively and have a chance to win. One of the keys will be your
ability to not give up many easy baskets. This DVD is for all levels of
basketball. Philosophy and rules for transition defense are
emphasized. Drills and technique for defending the 2 vs. 1, 3 vs. 2, 4
vs. 3, 5 vs. 4, and 5 vs. 5 are covered. How to utilize various
transition drills to not only eliminate easy baskets but also to create high
intensity competitive segments for your practices. Emphasizing the
importance of special situation play can give your team a winning advantage.
Primary discussion is on UOB and SOB play. Some coaching and teaching
philosophies as well as a team building approach are also communicated. 55 minutes.
2013.
32. Perimeter Team Drills, Dennis Hutter,
Mayville State University, 2013 NAIA National Tournament: In this DVD you
will learn the same Individual Development Drills for Perimeter play that Coach
Hutter has used to help his team qualify for the National Tournament. These
drills also helped the Comets rank in the Top 10 in the country in numerous
other offensive categories including points per game and shooting
percentages. Coach Hutter and his players will demonstrate numerous
individual shooting and ball handling drills that will help your players
improve their individual perimeter play, thus improving your team’s overall
improvement. The workouts include individual drills, partner drills as
well as small group drills. All designed to improve your team’s perimeter
play. 55 minutes. 2013.
33. Building Your
Man to Man Defense With 3 on 3 Drills, Chris McLean, Northland Community
College (MN), Assistant Coach: This video will explain three drills that we
used exclusively to develop and build some of our core principles with regard
to our man-to-man defense. These 3 drills helped our athletes see what we
were trying to develop in real time and built confidence in our defensive
principles. Each drill is designed to divide the floor so that your
players can focus and drill on one aspect of your defense. It can be used
to teach defensive rebounding and transition, to help in your scouting report
and guarding first actions. In our opinion it also developed a certain
amount of toughness and accountability for our teams. 55 minutes. 2013.
34. The Pius XI
Flyer/Transition System, Joel Claassen, Milwaukee Piux XI High School, 14 Time
Wisconsin Girls State Champion: The Flyer/Transition offense is a
patterned fast-break system that offers 4 different transitions with multiple
options. These transitions can be run off of made and missed baskets. I
have run these transitions for over 20 years with my boys and girls teams with
a lot of success. Included in the DVD is our "Flyer drill" which lead
into the transitions! The transition 1 is the most often-used and usually
occurs after missed shots. Transition 2 and 3 occur most often when our long
pass to the wing is taken away or after made shots. Transition 4 is was
implemented 4 years ago to take advantage of the 4 and 5 player who can shoot
the 3 and/or has the athletic skill to face up on the perimeter. 55 minutes.
2013.
35. The Pius XI
Combination-Defense System, Joel Claassen, Milwaukee Piux XI High School, 14
Time Wisconsin Girls State Champion:This DVD details a defensive system based on
shots made and missed and inbound position on the floor. The type of
Defense is determined by those shots made or missed and where is the ball
inbounded. The first defense is our 32 match up which combines
zone/man/trapping depending on ball movement/cutters/and position skills. The
system as a whole will keep your athletes focused on the defensive
responsibilities at all times. We use a color system to identify our man
defense's and of course a number system for our zones. The man system uses 9
different man defenses (all colors) with basic man principles. Zones that we
run are the 32 match up and 131. Though the system sounds complicated, it is
remarkable how easy it becomes for your players to remember. 55 minutes. 2013.
36. Competitive

the Year: Creating competitive defensive drills that utilize
communication in advantage and disadvantage situations, such as 1 on 1 to 4 on

defensive end of the floor. 55 minutes. 2013.
38. Rebounding Wins,
Kevin Vande Streek, Calvin College (MI), 2000 NCAA DIII National Champion: Although a
positive rebound margin is also an indicator of good defense, offense, and turn
over differential, Coach Vande Streek makes a strong case for rebounding margin
being the most important statistic in determining who wins a basketball game.
Successful rebounding teams have much more than size alone. Techniques,
strategies, characteristics, and emphasis are discussed and demonstrated in
this video to help individuals and teams rebound better and in turn, win more
games. 55 minutes. 2013.
39. Transition Defense: Defending Today’s Up Tempo Game, Kevin Vande Streek, 2000
NCAA DIII National Champion: Such a big part of today's game is the
strategy of up-tempo, fast break and fast paced offense. Players have a
more diverse skill set than they used to and are more athletic. Because
of this Transition Defense needs to be a part of our over-all coaching
philosophy, our game plan, and therefore a part of our daily practice
plan. Coach Vande Streek talks about concepts for transition defense and
gives a framework, strategy, and drills for how to get back quickly,
take away the easy shot and move into a half court defense
seamlessly. 55 minutes. 2013.

any player on the floor. The result of using this offense has been 53% FG
shooting the last two seasons. This video will provide simple breakdowns
of each concept and build toward 5-on-5 competitive work. 80 minutes. 2013.
41. Man to Man
