The Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association has announced details on the upcoming 2016-17 season for the Manitoba Basketball league (MBL). The MBL is for elite team registration only and players wishing to play in the league must first make a club team that has goals to play in the MBL. League Structure
Winter Tiering Structure
- Teams declare level going in to the league and then play other teams in the category to determine parody.
- 3 exhibition games to start the season to determine tiering to gauge if a team can compete at the level.
- First two weeks are preseason.
Seasons - Fees & Timelines
Winter - $1750
- October 16th to December 11th - 7-8 weeks
- 11 total games - 3 preseason, 7 regular season, 1 playoff guaranteed
- Starting weekend after Thanksgiving, running through to the second weekend in December
- Last weekend Championship Tournament (playoffs).
- Playing Days - Sundays in Winter
REGISTRATION DEADLINE SEPTEMBER 23
Spring
- April to June
- 8 total games -tournament + playoffs.
- Starting week after spring break running through to the third week in May.
- Championship Tournament (Playoffs)
- Playing Days - Weeknights in Spring

- Fall ages are defined as of December 31, 2016
- Spring ages are defined as December 31, 2017
