The Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association has announced details on its 20th season of community club basketball for children living in the greater Winnipeg area at the 5-18 age level. There are no ‘tryouts’ for club basketball as we make as many teams in the area based on the number of players who register. Ages 5-7 will be part of the Jr NBA program and the 8-10 year olds will be in the Steve Nash Youth Basketball program.
The league offers both a Fall / Winter league which runs October through March and a Spring League from April to June. Registration for each run in September and March respectively at participating community centres in the greater
The WMBA is a city-wide league, so teams will be competing against other teams from around the city. Attempts are made to keep games in a central location fair to all teams in the program. Age divisions are set roughly every 1 to 2 years. Teams ages 7 and under in the Jr NBA Program and teams ages 8+ play in separate boys and girls leagues. We are always looking for people to get involved at the league level as either a coach or an administrator.
