Setting an all-time high, the MCAC announced that 58% of its student-athletes during the 2015-16 season achieved a grade point average of 3.0 (B) or better.  Leading the way was Universite de St Boniface at 76% student athletes, followed by Assiniboine Community College at 73%, Red River College at 67% and Brandon University at 60%.  MCAC student-athletes participate in soccer, basketball, volleyball or futsal while attending a full-time academic program in their field of studies.

Executive Director of the MCAC, Bill Wedlake, says "Not only were many of these student athletes performing well in the classroom, they were members of a team and working part-time to pay for their education.  They are truly a remarkable group of young women and men".

The Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference consists of: Red River College (RRC), Canadian Mennonite University (CMU), Providence University College (PUC), Université de Saint-Boniface (USB), Assiniboine Community College (ACC), Brandon University (BU), and The University of Winnipeg (UW). The MCAC competes in men’s & women’s basketball, volleyball, futsal and soccer.
