The Bison women's basketball program has a recruiting class of four players for the 2017-18 season as fourth year head coach Michele Sung (nee: Hynes) is proud to announce the commitment of guard Deidre Bartlett, forward Dana Inglis, guard Alexis Kenyeres and guard Bettina Shyllon to the Bisons for the upcoming 2017-18 season.

It speaks to the progress of our program to have back-to-back years of solid recruiting classes and has us very excited about the upcoming 2017-2018 season," said Sung. "Alexis, Bettina, Dana and Deidre all bring different skill sets and basketball experiences to our program that will complement our current roster very well. They are all very highly motivated people that will increase the quality and competitiveness of all practices and training sessions. They also have high ambitions as students that will allow us to continue our rich tradition of student-athletes that excellence in the classroom and the community."

Deidre Bartlett
Deidre Bartlett, 17 (turning 18 in December 2017), finished her high school career at Oak Park in Winnipeg. The 5'5" guard averaged 19 points per game, six rebounds per game and four steals per game plus 42% from three-point line in her grade 12 season in 2016-17. In addition, the Winnipeg native playing resume includes Manitoba High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) AAAA championship title as co-captain and named tournament MVP in March 2017; ranked fourth in the annual Winnipeg Sun coaches' poll in 2017; AAAA All-Manitoba Team and Graduating All-Star Team in 2016-17; named tournament MVP four times in 2016-17 (St. Vital, Piper Classic, Pembina Trails Classic, Raider Classic). She has also been part of Manitoba Provincial Basketball Team U17 (2016-17), Centre for Performance Basketball Program (2015-16) and Manitoba Provincial Basketball Team U16 (2014-16). Bartlett was Oak Park MVP for varsity girl basketball and AAAA Athlete of the Week in 2015-16 while on Honour Roll from 2014-17.

Dana Inglis
Dana Inglis, 17 (turning 18 in July 2017), finished her high school career at Shaftesbury in Winnipeg. The 6'5" forward was AAAA Graduating All-Star in 2016-17 and invited by Canada Basketball to Women's National Age-Group Assessment Camps in Dec. 2016. In addition, the Winnipeg native was Shaftesbury HS Junior Varsity Athlete of the year (2015), MVP Varsity 92015), MVP Junior Varsity (2014) plus Centre for Performance Basketball Program (2015-17) and provincial U15 and U16 (2014-15). She was invited to Team Canada tryouts for Jr. Team in March 2017 and on the Honour Roll from grade 9-12.

Bettina Shyllo
Bettina Shyllon, 18, completed her high school career at Westwood Collegiate in Winnipeg. The 5'5" guard was AAAA Graduating All-Star in 2016-17 and ranked eighth in the annual Winnipeg Sun coaches' poll in 2017. In addition, the Winnipeg native was
captain at Westwood in grade 11 and 12, won silver at the 2015 Western Canada Games plus Centre for Performance Basketball Program (2015-16) and part of the provincial team in 2013, 2015 and 2016.

Alexis Kenyeres, 18, completed her high school career with Westdale Secondary in Hamilton. The 5'7" guard was captain of Westdale from 2014-16 and team captain at Blessed Sacrament (2013-16) plus played for Lincoln Prep in the 2016-17 season. The Dundas, ON native was a Juel Prep Second Team All-Star and also won the All Defensive team award in 2016. In addition, she was an All-Star in Carleton tournament (2015); Eastern Canadian MVP (2013); played at Blessed Sacrament (2011-16). Kenyeres was also on the Honour Roll from grade 9-11.
