TORONTO, ON (July 22, 2017) – The 2017 15U Boy’s and Girl's National Championships will be held at the University of Regina in Regina, Saskatchewan from July 24-29. The event is presented by Basketball Saskatchewan, in collaboration with Canada Basketball and the Local Organizing Committee.

At last year’s National Championships, Quebec defeated British Columbia, 61-48, in the 15U Girl’s National Championship game, while Nova Scotia edged Quebec by a score of 83-77 in the 15U Boy’s finals.

The National Championships are a stepping stone to Canada’s national team program. A number of past National Championships participants have gone on to represent Canada internationally – most recently in this summer’s FIBA U19 and U16 competitions.

The 2017 U16 Women’s National Team featured 2016 National Championships MVP Donna Ntambue (QC), as well as all-stars Kenya Côté-Lysius (QC), Yvonne Ejim (AB), Makayla Ennis (ON), Merissah Russell (ON) and Deanna Tuchscherer (BC). Members of the 2017 U16 Men’s National Team included 2016 National Championships all-stars Ben Krikke (AB) and Luka Sakota (ON).

All games will be played at the University of Regina Center for Kinesiology Health and Sport (CKHS). This newly renovated facility has 3 FIBA regulation sized basketball courts with a seating capacity of 2,000 people.
