The CMU Women's Basketball Program has announced the commitment of Dakota Collegiate's Michayle Bottomley for the 2018-19 Manitoba Colleges and Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference seasons.

A Tournament All-Star at John Taylor's Piper Classic, Bottomley is averaging 12-plus points and 9 rebounds per game in her senior year with the Lancers, who tip-off tonight at 6:00 pm in SCAC Playoff action. The 5'10 forward has the ability to stretch the defense with her ability to shoot the ball from the outside and adds to that a developed game in the post.

"We are really fortunate to have Michayle joining us next year," said CMU head coach Joe Di Curzio. "She is a very versatile player who can play alot of different positions for us and has a true passion for basketball. As a result, Mikayle has really elevated her game this year and she will be counted on to play a big role with us next season."

After winning several Player of the Game selections earlier this season, the 5'10 forward was recognized as Dakota's Athlete of the Month for January. Bottomley has been a member of the Junior Bisons Basketball Club for the past three seasons.

"Michayle is a glue player, she fills the stat sheet in all categories and is an amazing team leader," added Bottomley's high school coach at Dakota, Eric Sung. "She is a a dynamic inside-outside player with the skills to back it up. She continues to improve and has added something to her game every year. We at Dakota are extremely proud of her and can't wait to see her playing in a CMU uniform next season."
