The latest men's basketball recruit met Pilots coaches during Missouri tournament in March
Last month, while in Joplin, Missouri for the Association of Christian College Athletics basketball tournament, local high school star Colton Carpenter was invited to work out for Pilots head coach Tim Friesen.
“I did, and they offered me [a letter of intent],” Carpenter recently told the Joplin Globe. “I went up there over spring break to check out the campus and really liked it.”
Carpenter, a 6’0” power forward who was named a Team Best Defensive Player while representing his Webb City high school, just northeast of Joplin, plans to study biology at Providence.
“I feel like Providence has a great athletic and academic program and that being here will better myself in many ways,” he says.
