The University of Alberta has announced that Claire Signatovich of Winnipeg has committed to their program for the upcoming 2019-20 season. Claire is a long time member of the Manitoba Provincial Team and Centre for Performance programs and is currently finishing her grade 12 season with the #1 ranked Oak Park Raiders varsity girls basketball team.
Claire commented, "I am super excited to be able to play basketball at the university level. I am looking forward to being a student-athlete in the engineering program at the University of Alberta and can’t wait to play with a great group of girls!"
Claire has been invited to a number of national team identification camps with Canda Basketball and was a member of Team Manitoba at the 2017 Canada Games where she helped secure a Bronze Medal for the host province. She was invited last spring to take part in the 2018 Capital Courts National Girls Showcase game which featured other top female basketball players from around Canada.
She added, "I am very grateful for all the amazing coaches I’ve had here in Manitoba."
