Women’s basketball coach Joel Coursey announced today that he had added 5’ 5” guard Nomqhele Mahlangu to the team for the 2019 recruiting class. Transferring from Red Deer College, Nomquhele is coming to Providence to study in the Social Work program.
Head coach Joel Coursey had this to say about his first signing of the 2019 year: ““I am excited to kick off my 2019 recruiting class with Nomqhele. She is a hard-nosed determined athlete. Nomqhele spent a weekend here with the team this fall, seeing the campus and experiencing our program. She instantly fit in with our team and made herself known on the court. Her physical defence will be the foundation of her game and what she brings to our team. With an expected large recruiting class coming in next season, I believe Nomqhele will hold her own and challenger her teammates. I am looking forward to what our program will look like next year, and what Nomqhele will bring to our program.”
