THIS WEEKEND: Manitoba Basketball African Association to Host 2019 African Cup on May 18-19 in Winnipeg

SCHEDULE RELEASED: The Manitoba Basketball African Association (MBAA) will be hosting the 2019 African Cup on May 18 & 19, 2019 at Mennonite Brethren Collegiate at 173 Talbot Avenue in Winnipeg.  The tournament will feature 10 teams representing 10 African nations in the 2-day basketball tournament.

Day 1 Schedule - Saturday, May 18, 2019

• 11:30 am - TEAM BRIEFINGS – ALL PARTICIPATING TEAM PLAYERS MUST BE PRESENT
• 12:30 pm - Game 1: NIGERIA VS SOUTH SUDAN
• 1:45 pm - Game 2: RWANDA VS AFRICAN YOUTH TEAM
• 3:00 pm - Game 3: KENYA VS ZAMBIA
• 4:15 pm - Game 4: SIERRA LEONE VS ERITREA
• 5:15 pm - ENTERTAINMENT BREAK ( Balo, Nasir Jr. & Ethiopian Pavilion)
• 5:30 pm - Game 5: WINNER GAME 1 VS WINNER GAME 2
• 6:45 pm - Game 6: LOSER GAME 1 VS LOSER GAME 2

Day 2 Schedule - Sunday, May 19, 2019

• 12:00 pm - ARRIVAL AND WARM UP
• 12:30 pm - Game 7: WINNER GAME 3 VS WINNER GAME 4
• 1:45 pm - Game 8: LOSER GAME 3 VS LOSER GAME 4
• 3:00 pm - FINAL TALLY, RANKING AND ENTERTAINMENT
• 3:20 pm - PREPARATIONS FOR CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
• 4:45 pm - MBAA BALL FOR A CAUSE - CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
• 5:45 pm - MEDAL AND TROPHY PRESENTATION CEREMONY
• 6:00 pm - END OF TOURNAMENT
