The Brandon Bobcats men's basketball team will be hosting the 10th annual Holiday Hoops Classic, an event aimed at teaching local youth the fundamentals of basketball, and developing skills for players of all levels.
The session will be held on Wednesday, December 18 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the HLC Gymnasium and is aimed at kids in grades 2-8 boys and girls.
The Camp is FREE to attend and we ask participants to bring an unused toy for the Brandon Christmas Cheer Registry or a monetary donation. All donations will go to Brandon families in need this holiday season.
The primary focus of the session for the younger age group is to introduce the fundamentals of the game and to teach proper footwork, shooting mechanics, ball-handling, passing and spacing. In the older age group, participants will develop 1 on 1 moves off the dribble and jab, ability to read and react off of screens, use the pick and roll, and play competitive scrimmages.
The event promises to be fun as well as develop basketball skills in both an individual and team setting.
