Stay Ahead in School & Sports, Fatigue Science
There were over 150 attendees for last month's P-Series and are excited for the next session in January. Remember, these sessions are free for athletes, parents and coaches!
Here’s what we have lined up on Thursday, January 16 in the Sport Manitoba Conference Centre:
6:30 p.m. – “Time Management Workshop: Strategies to Stay Ahead in School and Sports: Becoming a Great Student-Athlete”
Amanda Angus (BA) and Gretchen Derige Cortens (BA, MA) are academic advisors at the University of Manitoba’s First Year Centre. They help students develop their skills in effective studying and time management while balancing academics and life.
7:45 p.m. – “Fatigue Science: What Athletes Need to Know About Rest, Recovery & Performance
Dr. Dean Kriellaars is a world-renowned expert in the field of Physical Literacy. He is a faculty member of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Manitoba, scientist at the Children’s Health Research Institute and Exercise Physiologist with Cirque De Soleil. He is the Scientific Director of the “Sleep in High-Performance Circus Artists” study, which will be releasing multiple publications this year.
