Alyssa Cox (Grant) has been involved in basketball as a player and coach for over 15 years. She graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 2015 with a Bachelor of Education and a major in Kinesiology and Applied Health. She is currently pursuing a master’s in Kinesiology and Recreation through the University of Manitoba, focusing on coaching and youth sport participation.
 
While attending university, Alyssa played five years of basketball for the University of Winnipeg Wesmen. When her playing career ended, Alyssa continued to be involved in basketball through coaching. She spent four years working with Basketball Manitoba as a Center for Performance program coach. In 2015 she was the head coach for the U15 Female Provincial Team and then moved on to coach the U17 team in 2016 and 2017, culminating in a bronze medal finish at the 2017 Canada Summer Games held in Winnipeg.
 
Alyssa is currently teaching at Shaftesbury High School, where she coaches the junior varsity girls basketball team. She continues to be an assistant coach with the University of Winnipeg and looks forward to another appearance at the Canada Games this summer.
