Providence Pilots women's basketball have signed another highly skilled recruit to add to the 2020 recruiting class. Early this week head coach Joel Coursey announced that the Winnipeg 5'5" guard, a AAA Graduating All-Star as well as a Junior Varsity and Varsity Provincial Champion, has decided to play her college ball at Providence.
“We are happy to welcome Celeste to our program," said Coursey, "She comes to us from a team who has established a winning culture and shocked a lot of bigger schools with their performance this past year. She understands our values and is excited to join us. Celeste is a hard worker and a positive contributor to the attitude of her team. She has high expectations for herself and big goals to achieve. I am excited to begin working with Celeste and for her to meet the team.”
Celeste is well known for her good attitude and great man-to-man defensive methods. Her versatility and determination will set her apart as a Pilot playing in the MCAC, NIAC and NCCAA leagues.
Celeste comes to Providence to study Church Ministries. She comments on her commitment by saying, "I’m pumped about being welcomed into such an amazing new family, and even more excited to be studying Church Ministries which I’m passionate about. I'm ready to learn and grow. All my thanks goes to God for blessing me with an opportunity to continue playing basketball and continue having fun pursuing what He has for me on my faith journey.”
